PMAY helps families build or buy a home. This page tells you how much financial help is available, who is eligible, and step-by-step instructions for applying and checking your status.
How to check your PMAY application status in Tamenglong:
Selection is automatic based on SECC 2011 deprivation data, not first-come-first-served. The Gram Sabha validates and ranks the beneficiary list.
Four ways PMAY-Urban can help you: • BLC: ₹1.5 lakh to build/upgrade your own house on your own land. • CLSS: Up to ₹2.67 lakh interest subsidy on your home loan. • AHP: New flats built through government-private partnerships at affordable prices. • ISSR: Housing for slum dwellers using land as a resource.
Who is eligible: EWS households (income up to ₹3L/year), LIG (₹3-6L), MIG-I (₹6-12L), MIG-II (₹12-18L). House must be in a woman's name — this is mandatory.
How to apply: Visit pmaymis.gov.in → Citizen Assessment → Apply Online. Or go to your municipal office or nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
Financial assistance: ₹1.20 lakh per house in plain areas, ₹1.30 lakh in hill and tribal areas. Money is sent directly to your bank account in 3-4 instalments as construction progresses.
Who can apply: Landless agricultural labourers, families in 0/1/2-room kutcha houses, SC/ST, minorities, and manual scavengers. Beneficiaries are selected from the SECC 2011 database — not application-first.
How to apply: Visit your Gram Panchayat or Block Development Office. The house must be in the name of a female family member. For help, contact your Block Development Officer.
